Corrosion

The deterioration of equipment is one of the greatest concerns that face agricultural, municipal and industrial facilities today.

BioTriad's Corrosion Control products are non-toxic, environmentally friendly blends designed for the prevention of corrosion to pipes, tanks and wells.

AquiBolic Organic Corrosion Inhibitors

AquiVenger Dissolved Sulfide Scavengers

Current estimates exceed ten billion dollars per year for infrastructure repairs due to premature corrosion.

The Aquatic Environment...

Wastewater normally contains an abundance of suspended nutrients and microorganisms.

Microbes feed on the suspended nutrients.

As the microbial colony grows, the oxygen within the wastewater is quickly depleted.

The facultative microbes within the wastewater switch to anaerobic respiration and begin producing dissolved sulfides.

The obligate aerobes die off and the anaerobic organisms thrive, producing more sulfides.

The Corrosion Source...

Sulfides are not only nuisance odors and dangerous health hazards, they are destructive compounds.

Hydrogen sulfide combines with oxygen and microorganisms to form sulfuric acid.

Hydrogen sulfide and sulfuric acid are highly corrosive compounds that greatly increase the natural rate of concrete and metal failure.

The deterioration of equipment is one of the greatest concerns that face agricultural, municipal and industrial facilities today.

How Corrosion Control Works...

Corrosion Control works in two ways...

-Inhibit the Production of Sulfides

-Scavenge Existing Sulfides

Inhibitors modify the microbial colony so that it produces carbon dioxide and water instead of malodors.

Scavengers attack existing dissolved sulfides within the wastewater through oxidation and chemical reactions.
